米オースティンで開催されたSXSW (South By Southwest, サウス・バイ・サウスウエスト) にて、「SXSW Gaming Awards 2018」各部門の受賞作品が決定し、発表されました。GOTY （ビデオゲームの年間最優秀作品）には任天堂が2017年3月に発売した『ゼルダの伝説 ブレス オブ ザ ワイルド』が選ばれています。ゼルダはデザインやゲームプレイ部門も受賞する最多3冠を獲得しています。
その他の受賞作品では『PUBG』がゼルダBOTWと並んで3部門を授賞。『Nier: Automata』『Cuphead』『Horizon: Zero Dawn』『Night In The Woods』が2部門で続きました。VR部門では『バイオハザード7』が大賞を、モバイルゲーム部門では『ファイアーエムブレム ヒーローズ』が大賞を受賞しています。
